Anatomy

Human anatomy is something marvelous and very inspirational. We know our bodies like ‘the back our hand’, but yet when given the chance to draw one it seems more difficult than anything we ever tried to draw. Because when we meet up with other people and engage in some social activities we tend to focus on eyes or mouth, but never the human body as a whole.

So when we take a step back and look at just the body, we usually draw what we think we see not what we actually see. It is a very interesting quest to dive into the art of the human anatomy. I have learned so much, not only about anatomy but also about me. I love details, focussing on what hands can say, or eyes. Diving deep so to say.

But when I zoom out something funny happens. I loose interest in all of the small details and focus on the expression of the body as a whole.

Art is soul searching. Studying human anatomy gives it an extra dimension to me.
